Since the recent update, it seems as though my ringtones and notifications are no longer controlled by the volume switch on the side of the phone. Even when I have it set just one notch above vibrate-only, these sounds still come in at full volume. Extrememly annooying and disruptive. Is anyone else having this issue?
I have these problems and many more due to the update.
Hi robert.pfauth,
Let's look into this! Did the issue begin immediately after the update? Have you recently downloaded any new applications? Are you unable to set the individual volume settings within your device settings? I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Since posting my original question, I continued to poke around on the phone and found the "Volumes" settings under "Sound". There I was able to adjust the Notifications and other volumes individually. I'm guessing that the update reset all the volume settings to the maximum, and I have now been able to successfully adjust the volumes to my preferences. But I'm still not clear on how sounds other than the ringer are controlled by the volume up/down switch on the side of the phone.
The volume rocker will adjust the volume of whatever you are doing at the time....listening to media, it changes speaker volume...on a call, adjusts phone volume...etc. Or you can go into the sound/volume settings and adjust each one individually.
