Update to 4.4.2, and the home button issue

Does anyone know if the Moto X update to 4.4.2 will be ported over to the new DROID line?  Same internal hardware, so it should not be difficult.  I'm not talking custom ROMs or anything, I mean official update.

Also, does anyone know if VZW is working on fixing the home button issue found on the new DROIDs with the 4.4 update?  My wife has the MINI, and I have the MAXX, and both phone exhibit the same behavior.  The phone appears to be registering each tap of the home button twice.  On the default launcher, it is represented by going back to the primary home screen instead of the home screen you launched the program from, on other launchers, it's doing the double tap action even though you hit the button only once.

I'd be open to a fix for the above problem if someone has found a work around too instead of waiting on VZW to patch it.

Yeah, I knew that one, I was hoping someone might have heard some rumblings, or if anyone in the know might chime in.  Wishful thinking, I know.
