Fios Mobile App Not Working After iOS 11 Upgrade

I recently upgraded to iOS 11 now my Fios Mobile App isn’t working. It crashes after trying to load and I am not happy. Called Verizon, was on the phone for an hour doing the same things over and over again to resolve the issue to the point I had to end the call. I am frustrated because I am paying for a service I can, Now, no longer utilize. Is anyone else having this issue? Who fixes the bug... Apple or Verizon? And how long will I be unable to use my mobile service. All other Apps works. Please Help! Thanks!

Verizon Support had me go to Settings, General, Reset (at bottom of General options), then Reset Network Connections.

Had to re-enter p/w to get WiFi back up, but fix seems to have worked on both iPhone and iPad.

Can you get in to app long enough to report issue under help?

Or does it crash on startup?

No I could not. The only way I could get into the help is if I turned my WiFi off and used me cell data.

Turns out re-setting network connections did not fix the Fios App issue with the iPad. Still crashing almost immediately after opening the app. Any ideas?

Did you uninstall and reinstall all mobile devices from the Set-Top box?

Are there instructions for this?

No which I felt to be an issue and informed FIOS they need to have it in a troubleshoot book and sent to all customers. I called in and I was directed step-by-step. I just remembered most of it. Try calling FIOS and tell them you need assistance removing and re-adding your devices and resetting the DVR box to accommodate the new iOS update.

Folks, either we're on different wavelengths or I need some basic training; don't understand the talk of 'set top boxes,' by which I assume is meant the Verizon box for cable TV (?).

The iPad works wirelessly over my router-enabled WiFi; how does the set top box come into play? And as I type this I'm at my Dad's who has another service provider, and the mobile app works correctly to allow TV streaming.

I too thought the same thing and kept readjusting my router only to find out it has absolutely nothing to do with the router. It’s the Set Top box that needs to be reset. I too was shocked but after following all of the instructions it worked. Your iPad will work other places mine did too just not at home. If you are having the same issues I had,  this is the only resolve. I did list a few instructions on what I did at the very beginning of my post. You may just have to call a tech.

Yes, the MAIN Set Top box in your home is the Dvr box.

Uninstalled and Reinstalled mobile devices from Set Top box.

Settings, System, Mobile Devices, Remove Devices (must do this individually)

NEXT - Menu, DVR, Configure & Upgrade, Export Series to Cloud

Go back to Settings to Activate Devices. This should work it was the ONLY thing that worked for me.

FIOS mobile app still freezing on the iPad. Spent hour (+) w/Verizon Wireless rep who had me fool with the router, re-set network connections, etc; finally passed me to a FIOS rep who said I had too many connected devices, needed to increase my network speed from 50 to 75 megs. I mentioned to him the 'set top box' that several of you said was re-set to solve the issue, and the rep said that had nothing to do with the FIOS mobile app and WiFi connectivity. So I turned off the bluetooth on all devices so that the only draw on the system was the iPad; no help - FIOS mobile app still freezing seconds after starting a TV show or movie.

He passed me to a sales rep who said, sure, we can amp up your speed - at double the price I'm paying now. No thank you, Verizon; I'll live with the disabled FIOS service. That said, however, if Inquiring-Mind or someone else can walk me thru the 'uninstall/reinstall devices from the Set Top Box,' would be willing to try it.

Have to wonder if anyone from Verizon monitors these chat rooms to determine if there's an enterprise problem they might want to address.

I think it’s premature to consider this issue solved.  As far as I can tell, Verizon has yet to acknowledge this issue or provide anything comprehensive to their customers regarding how to proactively address this, let alone fix it once it’s happened.  If they are investing as much into their data science community as Comcast, then someone should be mining these comments for poor customer experience sentiment and share the info accordingly.

Same issue, plays for ten seconds and then freezes. Worked fine in the past.

I have an iPad2, which is dated but still works fine. The internet speed test however only gets 50megabits and my phone gets 150 for 5ghz. Switching to 2.4 gets me 35 and phone is 50. Even if it's not ideal, that should be enough. Note, the streaming works fine on the phone.

Anyway, I hope a solution comes soon.

How do you make these changes to the set top box?

My app has been unstable for several months now.  The app just cannot see any set top boxes.  Verizon fixed it once by resetting something, I forget what but the problem came back a week or so later.  I was able to fix it myself by unauthorizing my iphone.  But it came back a few days later.  Since you can only authorize/unauthorize 2 times I had to find something else.  My set top boxes do not have a add/remove devices option, probably because none of them are DVR's.  I renamed the kitchen set top box now the app is working again.  Not sure how long that will last.

Same issue after downloading ios 11.o.2. Fios Mobile app for TV starts and then stops after minute or two on both iPhone and iPad. Pop-up window invites me to retry or send email, which I've done three times. What I assume is an automatic reply suggests I close and re-open app, which I've done sev times; have also deleted and downloaded app from Apple Store again. Any help in this group, 'cuz I'm getting nothing from Verizon.
