I hate AccuWeather.......how come customers did not have a choice or a vote to keep The Weather Channel???? AccuWeather stinks, there are no REAL stories nor do the show any weather people out in the field......this is the worst, I watch the weather channel everyday. I might just think about changing my service to someone who has The Weather Channel!!! I hate this.....ugh !

Verizon is NOT following its contract of including the Weather channel of subscribers who signed up before its elimination.  Verizon does what it wants to do regardless of the wishes of its subscribers.  At $250 a month that we pay, we should not have to wait an hour or so for our area to be on the weather.  Go ahead, buy AOL, and see what you can do to increase your profits to pay for the purchase, You people are awful!

As the hurricane season approaches, I hope Verizon FiOS TV realizes that depriving us of to the Weather Channel on, places us customers that live in hurricane prone areas at risk!

Verizon please remove this joke of a weather channel called Accuweather. It is an insult that Verizon offers Accuweather as a replacement to the weather channel.

Sorry for the typo in my last post. I meant to write;

As the hurricane season approaches, I hope Verizon FiOS TV realizes that, depriving us of the Weather Channel, plcaes us at risk!

Verizon please remove this joke of a weather channel called Accuweather. It is an insult that Verizon offers Accuweather on the channel number that was assigned to the weather channel.

Talking to customer service is a total waste of time. All they do is read from a script. They do not know the channels Verizon is providing. Do not tell them to bring back The Weather Channel. It just falls on deaf ears. Just change providers. Hit them where it hurts. In the pocket. I just changed back to Time Warner Cable of NYC. I gave Accuweather a chance. 2 1/2 months. No changes after all that time and many complaints and comments on Twitter and their Facebook page. Stop complaining and take action........NOW!!!!!!!

I suggest you read the terms of service. Like any provider they can add, change and remove channels at anytime they want. If a contract ends with a provider and Verizon do you really think they have to carry it just because you signed a contract?

Verizon offered me a discount in February if I signed a 2 year contract which included The Weather Channel (among others) and have now dropped The Weather Channel and 3 Fox College Sports channels that were included in MY CONTRACT!!!!

As said in another post above you need to read the terms of service that YOU agreed to. No channels were included in the contract. Service was. ALL providers can add, change, delete channels at anytime due to contracts or any other reason.

The weather channel has been gone for a good amount of time now and people are still complaining about it. Also as said, these are peer to peer forums so posting here trying to get the channel back isn't going to work.

The chances Verizon will bring the channel back is extremely slim to none.

It's time to move on people. If you arent' happy then cancel service.

Thank you, SinCara, for being a spokesperson for Verizon Fios.  We all appreciate your carrying the water for Verizon.

I'm no spokesperson. It's called common sense.

Couldn't agree more...I continually turn to the weather channel for weather related news and programming.  If it's not back on soon, I WILL be moving on.

The Weather Channel is very important to me.  The accuweather substitution is terrible.  If the Weather Channel is not brought back, I will be leaving FIOS.

Not applicable

I also agree.  This was quite a shock to me.  I consider The Weather Channel and WeatherScan necessities for my cable service.  This will be a deal breaker for me.  If this is not resolved in a timely fashion I will be returning to Comcast - the company I left for Verizon years ago.

Hey Verizon

Thanks my contract is up this month and I won't be renewing. You cancel channels at the drop of a god **bleep** hat, how are we supposed to enjoy FIOS when poof one of your favorite channels is gone. Enough is enough of this crap I don't need the agravation...............

I attempted an online chat earlier, however, the wait time was ridiculous. When I called Verizon directly, I said "OPERATOR" and I was almost immediately put through to a human being. But, not before the VerizonBot2000 relayed an automated propaganda message about the removal of The Weather Channel. Obviously, they expect many calls about this, hence, the automated message, like when there's an outage in your area.

I told the operator that I wanted to lodge a formal compliant about the removal and that if TWC isn't renewed, I will be transferring my service to another provider. I mentioned that I am a "bundle" customer, so that would mean I would be transferring cable, internet and phone service to another provider.

When I asked, the operator told me that I was the first call he had received about this. He also claimed that "the channel hasn't been removed." I told him that of course it's been removed, but he played a game of semantics and said that "it hasn't been removed because the "channel" is still there with Accuweather." I told him that was a ridculous statement and that Accuweather is awful. Hopefuly, he noted that complaint as well.

LET'S MAKE THOSE CALLS!

I agree!  One of the main reasons that we pay for cable is to have the Weather Channel with local weather.  I don't need to know up to date reports on Washington, D.C.  Bring back the Weather Channel or I will be gone!

I am so upset, the weather Channel being dropped, get rid of some of the crappy channels that no one watches, going to switch when contract is up, Weather on the 8s kept us informed on the East Coast,

At least get some station that gives local infomation, Big Mistake is right,

Can't believe that Verizon hasn't responded to customers with all of their complaints about the removal of TWC from the lineup.   The new accuweather channel is horrnedous, really unwatchable and appears to be filmed in someone's garage and put together by a high school media class.  What a waste of an HD channel.    I worry that after this first week or so uproar from customers things will start to die down and people will stop complaining about TWC's removal and nothing will change.

I would like to see the Weather Channel back as well. Accuweather is useless.  All I need now is just local channels. Stupid move on Verizon

It is important for customers to let both Verizon and The Weather Channel hear that we want the Weather Channel back.  You can go on line to the Weather Channel and send them an email, and they will write back and tell you who to contact at Verizon.  Or, you can call Verizon, get connected to Billing, and they will take the information.  When I did that I got a very nice rep who took all of my comments down.
