It appears that you can turn off Wi-Fi protection by going to the App and selecting the small "Settings" icon and finding the app page that has 3 sliders on it for web security, wi-fi, etc.and turning the wi-fi off. Then connect to your home wi-fi and then go back to the app and turn wi-fi security back on. That SEEMS to solve the problem.

Clarification: Go to the verizon security & privacy app and open it and wait for it to come up with the three security types - Security Scan, Privacy, Web Security. Tap on Web-Security and look for the small Settings icon at the bottom and tap that. Then you will see the three sliders.

I'm having the same problem. I even factory reset my phone and the app is still saying this. So far it is only happening on one wi-fi network. The wi-fi is protected and firewall is tightened down. Even changed the wi-fi password. I never had this problem with this wi-fi network until recently. There must be a problem with the app with a recent update. I think Verizon needs to look into this and fix their app.

I just received the message that my Wi-Fi was under attack, from my Directtv box. First time for any message like this. I think maybe this app is messed up.

I just received this alert as well. My network *should* be secure, though I don't trust much anymore. I disconnected and then unplugged my router (it's late at night) and I'm eating up data to figure this out now. I feel better with it unplugged for the night, and maybe I'll change the passwords in the morning, but I have a feeling that was unneeded stress and lost sleep (and lost data!) over an App that needs to be fixed!

I'm wondering if any legitimate access to your network (other devices like phones, tablets, DirecTV, thermostats, etc) triggers the false warning.

That's an interesting statement. This problem seemed to have started when Cox switched out the modem. The modem is for telephone and internet. I rebooted the modem and I have not gotten the message again.

I'm hoping the made the same change that I made yesterday. I updated my security app on my Verzion phone to the new one, and now I'm receiving this message. I'm assuming it's a generic one, but I don't want to go freaking out my system's Admin about a web attack, if this is just because a lot of users connect to an access point. Is there an FAQ from this new Security & Privacy app?
