This is a general warning for anyone purchasing a phone from a Verizon store... Make sure the phone can activate before you leave the store.
My mother in law purchased her phone from the store and when she got home, she realized the phone would not activate. She brought it to me and after a chat window with support they told me the phone was locked for non-pay.
I spent over 3 hours on the phone with Verizon to find out the brand new phone was on a do not activate list. It took multiple calls between the fraud department and support to finally resolve the issue.
I hope Verizon doesn't charge her for any activation fees.
Bring your old phone to the store, transfer all data, and activate to the new phone before you leave the parking lot.
