***Announcement: Early next week, we’ll be merging the current Fios and Wireless Communities into the all new Verizon Community! Beginning the evening of Sunday 12/4, both Communities will be placed in read-only mode. You’ll still be able to visit the Communities and browse content, but login will be disabled. Brand New iPhone 12 from Verizon store on "do not activate list"

This is a general warning for anyone purchasing a phone from a Verizon store... Make sure the phone can activate before you leave the store.

My mother in law purchased her phone from the store and when she got home, she realized the phone would not activate. She brought it to me and after a chat window with support they told me the phone was locked for non-pay. 

I spent over 3 hours on the phone with Verizon to find out the brand new phone was on a do not activate list. It took  multiple calls between the fraud department and support to finally resolve the issue.

I hope Verizon doesn't charge her for any activation fees. 

Bring your old phone to the store, transfer all data, and activate to the new phone before you leave the parking lot.
