Contacts switching phones on the same account?

I have noticed contacts disappearing from my phone randomly for over a year. It is really frustrating. The other day, my wife noticed contacts on her phone she had never put in there. They were contacts from my phone. Her phone is on the same account as mine. 

Please, how can I get this to stop??

You have something shared on both phones like a Gmail account or Apple ID.

That is probably true. How can I stop the contacrs from jumping phones, tho?

We'd be happy to help, caburleson90! What is the make/model of your device and your wife's? Are both devices Apple products? If so, do you both share the same Apple ID?
