I get a 21% corporate discount now on my talk and text plan. I'm thinking of going to Edge with More Everything. What portion is the discount applied to? Would it be the line access for my smartphone or the data portion of the bill?
Solved! Go to Correct Answer
Discounts are only applied to the data portion of your bill on a More Everything plan.

Just be sure what you're getting into, not saying you don't but many people do. Edge is an interest free payment plan for full priced phones. If you're on Edge and the more everything plan you will get a $15(for 8GB data or less) or $25(for 10GB data or more) discount off the $40 line charge.
that is correct about discount. only do edge if your on a 10 gb plan or higher (for most phones)
That's what everyone says and I understand the reasoning. Maybe I'm figuring it wrong, but I still think it's a good deal no matter what the data. The way I figure it if I get a 32 gb Turbo my base charges before taxes and fees will only go up 52 cents a month, like 2.09 for the 64 gb. Yes, it will go up but not much and I'll have a brand new phone. If I wait and go on contract I'll have to pay $199 or $249 for the phone plus activation fee and $40 a month line access as opposed to $25. Again, maybe I'm figuring it wrong, that's what I'm doing now, trying to decide whether to Edge Up or just wait two months and go on contract. Plus my wife will soon be upgrading to a smartphone and Edge seems the only feasable way to go.
rite, but the line access is still 40 with edge. you do get a 25 dollar discount so that reduces the line access to 15. however then you need to account the edge payment at full price. you cant take the 25 off the line access and the edge payment.

Keep in mind Verizon is not charging an upgrade fee for a Droid Turbo. But yes, you certainly need to think if Edge is the best option for you depending on your choice of phone. There is not a single blanket choice of what is best for everyone.
iin my case the increase was 2.07 for the phone, but the taxes and fees were lower, so my net increase was only 82 cents.
