Misleading BOGO Deal

Around Black Friday the employee at the store stated that Verizon was having a BOGO deal on phones. So, my mother got a new phone (the buy one) and added a new line onto the account (the get one). We asked the employee numerous times if he was sure that this phone would be free and that our bill would only be about 20 dollars more due to our plan change. Ever since, we have been charged for the supposed free phone.

We have contacted Verizon numerous times about the situation, but they are stating that we did not get buy one get one free, but instead got a $750 credit towards the second phone. That is less than half the cost of the phone. I am unsure what to do, but we cannot afford the $300 phone bill that comes with the "free phone." They lied straight to our face. Is there any way to just give the phone back or something?

BOGO means "Buy One Get One" not "Buy One Get One Free"

I think the sales people in the Verizon stores make up things and say one thing and write up a contract for something else.  A similar thing happened to me.  Verizon customer service will not help because the transaction was done at a non-corporate store.  The store says they have submitted paperwork to Verizon and gotten no reply.  It has been 4 months and I am paying for a "free phone".  I've spent over 7 hours on the phone explaining to numerous people and everyone puts it off on someone else.  VERIZON has NO customer service.
