Verizon Trade-in fraud?

I sent in a new iphone 7 32 for trade-in, and was estimated to get 185 for it, which is already very low if you lookup what I could get on ebay or something. After receiving it they valued it at 127, stating "We have received a different device than expected, Better qualifying promotion found". That doesn't sound like a better promotion to me. Anybody else have this experience? I am thinking of dropping verizon after this.

Update: been chatting with customer service for 45 min (seriously how does it take this long), and they just said they will give me the original 185 now and reappraise the phone. Still pretty disappointing and sketchy. Pretty disappointed after 15 years as a verizon customer.

I have the same question, and after using the wonderful "chat" feature having been promised that someone would get in touch with me to resolve my $67 vs $250 discrepancy, I've of course heard nothing. Horrible experience.
