So last week I used my Apple TV/Netflix to watch a 90 min show. I had over 5GB of data left for the billing cycle. I had logged onto my Netflix profile and chosen the option for non HD in order to not blow over my limit.. Well sure enough in a couple of hours I get the "you have exceeded your data limit" message. This was the only activity I was using my Verizon data plan for. How can 60-90 minutes of non HD streaming consume over 5 GB of data ?

Did you use your phone's hotspot to stream the data? If so, did you check the phone to see how much data it says was used?

Obvious answer is it streamed in HD despite your attempt.
