Device change

I currently have a LG G8, which I got at the beginning of last month. I want to change the device to, say, an iPhone, while keeping the plan. Will there be a penalty for changing my device?

You can't purchase the new second phone on a device payment agreement.

Otherwise you can switch your phone to another one on your line at any time.

Please note switching from an Android phone to an iPhone has a few extra steps. You will need to verify the voicemail feature on your line changed to the Apple voicemail. You will also need to setup your voicemail account again as the iPhone voicemail is housed on the Apple servers instead of the Verizon Wireless servers.

If you need to transfer your text messages from one phone to another, then you will need to research your options to transfer to or from the iPhone.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Absolutely not! If your purchased full retail another iPhone or if it was your previous device, you can activate it on your line anytime. However, you would still need to be paying on your LG G8 even if you have another device on the line. This will not mess up your data plan either. To get the best support, I recommend reaching out to us through your personal Facebook or Twitter account. Other ways to contact us would be found here: www.vzw.com/support/contact-us .

By the way, have you had the chance to review our new unlimited plans? Check them out here: https://www.verizonwireless.com/plans/

You can review how to claim you Verizon Up credit here as well: https://m.vzw.com/m/verizonupclaimreward . We hope to hear from you soon!   MichelleH_VZW
