***Announcement: Early next week, we’ll be merging the current Fios and Wireless Communities into the all new Verizon Community! Beginning the evening of Sunday 12/4, both Communities will be placed in read-only mode. You’ll still be able to visit the Communities and browse content, but login will be disabled. On the afternoon of Monday 12/5, all users will be able to log into the new Verizon Community. We expect the new Community to be fully functional the morning of Friday 12/9. My recent android update changed my formats but now my emails only appear as received. I cannot open them or read the contents. What do I need to do to allow me to open the email & read contents?

We understand how important it is to view  your emails. Please tell us more about your issue. What is the make and model of your device? What email carrier are  you using? and please tell us what email application you are using. -BrittanyC_VZW

I would suggest removing the email account from the phone. Verifying the mobile server settings to allow you access to the email account and reenter the server settings to reconnect with your email account.
