I purchased my Sony Z3 a week ago and it has been working great until lunchtime today. I was wondering why I hadn't received any responses from my earlier texts and went to look at my phone and it was off. I pushed and held the power button forever, nothing. I placed on the charger to see if it would light up or make some sort of sound, nothing. I do not have a removeable battery to take out and put back to see if it would come on, so I'm at a loss on what to do now other than take it back to the store. Anyone else have this problem or have a suggestion?

Simulate a battery pull with:
Hold the Volume Down button and then the Power key and hold these two buttons down simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds. After holding them down for about 20 seconds if the phone didn’t power cycle then release the keys and try and turn the phone on like you normally would by briefly pressing the power button. If that doesn't work then try Volume Up instead of Volume Down.

This worked, it came on and said system recovery and I had to choose what I wanted to do, safe mode or continue start up.
Thank you so much. Can you tell me why this happened, will it continue to be a problem and should I still take it back to the store? I have 3 more days to change my mind and get something else….just wondering if I should.
Thank you,

Hopefully just a hiccup things like this happen on occasion with most devices, if it happens again with that time frame you may want to take it back and have it checked out. From what I hear the Xperia Z3 is a great device and does have a 1 year warranty which would cover any real hardware issues. Good luck and enjoy your new phone.
