So shortly after the new 23C update I'm no longer able to charge my phone when I connect it to a computer. It does not matter which computer I plug into all of them give me the same error message, "USB device not recognized, The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." I get this same error message on every computer I try. On the device I get an error message stating "To charge your phone, install USB driver or use the charger and cable that were provided with this phone." I'm using the cable that was provided with the phone and I have installed the USB drivers on all of the computers I have tried. Since the phone never connects I'm unable to access any data on it to transfer to my computer. I need this fixed.

The update was done with the last several weeks. I have tried a new USB cable and it does the same thing.

Ok, so for now if you have data that needs to be transfered, I suggest using a wfi file transfer app. My two favorites are SuperBeam and AirDroid. Specific SuperBeam. So fast. Any way, I would like to suggest that you head over to XDA Developers Web site. They can help out. Most likely. I have had this issue with my GS3 a while back. I do not remember what the fix was. But,it was fixed. Aside from a physically broken port. I have confidence it will be all good.

To transfer files without USB, simply use Wireless Storage feature...you can find it in the quick toggles in the notification bar and in Share and Connect in phone settings.
