Leaving and need a way to back up for new phone

  I have a Droid Z Play and wanting to get the contacts out of it and put into a new phone I am getting with my new Spectrum phone.  Yes, I am leaving Verizon.  Problem is the phone has a black screen and I can't see a thing on the old phone.  I plugged into my PC and I don't see anything showing it is there.   I don't need anything but contacts on there..... any way to get those ???   Thanks in advance !

rockg, sorry to learn you are leaving. We certainly don't want to see you go. With the screen being black there is no other way to retrieve the contacts if they were not backed up previously. If you haven't already done so it is recommended to check google.com/contacts to see if they were backed up there.
