My Xperia is suddenly stuck in start up mode. It just cycles through continuously and never opens up. It is powered up. Tried safe mode to launch, tried removing sim card, same results. Any ideas how to get unstuck?

Try plugging the device into your computer and running the software repair assistant: Software Update - Software Upgrade Assistant (Sony) | Verizon Wireless
The Upgrade Assistant Tool is tied in with teh Repair Assistant Tool. Both do a similiar funtion.. e.g. reload the software to the device. It has worked for a few friends of mine on various devices.
Hope this helps. Let us know.
PrimoWoody, let’s get that phone functioning as it should be. Thanks for clarifying what steps you’ve taken. This way won’t have to repeat them. When did this start happening? Has anything on the phone changed what it started such as software, applications, updates, or files?

Mine started doing this months ago. I have yet to get a fix for it. I have tried to open in Safe Mode but it won't boot up there either. Every now and then it will finally go through and then run an app optimization and be fine for a while. Then it will randomly power down and do it all over again. I have factory reset it and added no apps and tried to restart and it does it then too. It is getting old and I'm about to chunk this phone...
I have also tried plugging into the Upgrade/Repair Assistant on my laptop but because the phone never boots up it never connects to that program to run the upgrade/repair. So that fix is out too...
We want to make sure that you have a working device. I would recommend attempting to run the Upgrade/Repair Assistant when the device powers up. If this doesn't work, I would then recommend a full Factory Reset to ensure that something on the device is not causing this.
