I have a new galaxy s7 on order. The directions for activation are pretty clear, except no mention of when, or if, to install the sim card from my old galaxy s5. What should i do?

The Galaxy S5 uses a micro SIM card and the S7 uses a nano. If you ordered the phone from VzW, a SIM card should be pre-installed.
When you order a new device, it will be ready to activate when you power it on. Follow the steps on your device screen to complete activation.
