I recently lost my phone and when i got my new insurance replacement (LG V40), i had new bloatware apps on it. One app included was hum. I have to disable this app EVERY DAY. at 12:23am when my phone does some sort of update or backup, the hum app gets re-enabled in my apps. I do not have the service (and NEVER will after all this hassle). I have talked to verizon and hum customer service. Verizon tried to help, and hum hung up on me after i said i didnt subscribe. Verizon was supposed to follow up and never did, so i tried to do it myself. It worked for about a month, now all of a sudden the darn app is back. I am beyond frustrated. HOW DO I PERMANENTLY DISABLE an app?? PLEASE HELP!!
Ditch the Verizon phone and buy an unlocked one. Not missing the bloatware from my old LG.
Thanks for reaching out, CURLYQ42. We want you to be able to use your device as you see fit. Sorry to hear about the issues but glad to help. What steps were taken before when the issue was temporarily resolved? What specific type of update or back up happens at 12:23am everyday? Looking forward to hearing back and helping find a lasting resolution. -ChrisM_VZW
I honestly don't know what I did. I just kept clicking on stuff in my phone. Verizon had me do a few things like clear cache and data and then disable, and that didn't work. I tried to go into other settings in Google I think or in play and tried to disable some stuff.... I don't know what kind of update it is, I can't find what is being scanned or updated. I just get the notification from the play store timed at 12:23 saying I have apps that need updating. And hum all of a sudden, is back on the list.
