Use Old Phone When New Phone Is Sent To Samsung

Hey there.  I have a quick question.  My Samsung Note 5 has a defective screen.  The top left corner of the glass is splitting from the bezel.  It just looks like an air bubble that's getting slightly bigger and I've read that many others have had the same problem.  I spoke with Samsung and they want me to send it in, since I'm still within my one year warranty.  Now, I did keep my old S5 and I wish to use this as a backup.  Is there anything I need to do to activate it and is Verizon going to charge me for a new activation or will they be kind enough to waive any activation fees?  I would then need to reactivate my Note 5 when it returns.  Thank you! -Brad

There isn't any kind of fee when switching between smartphones you own. Heck I have switched between three different phone within one billing cycle multiple times and have never been charged for it. If the SIM card slot is the same size you can just move the SIM card from the Note 5 into the S5. If not, you can purchase a SIM card adapter fairly expensively from Amazon.

The Note 5 uses a nano SIM and the S5 uses a micro SIM; I'd also vote for a SIM card adapter from somewhere like Amazon ... that way you can use the nano SIM in any phone without any problem.  And there's a typo in the above post ... the SIM card adapters are fairly inexpensive.

Yeah that is a typo. Silly auto correction and the brain moving faster than the fingers.

Sim adapter as other mentioned is the easiest route. That way you can flip between the devices quickly. I use one and it works great. If this isn't an option you should be able to get a 3FF sim from a Verizon store. That is the "nano sim."

I have one like this: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-iSYFIX-Micro-Standard-Converter/dp/B00R25GJJW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=...

Good luck!

Actually I believe the nano SIM is called a 4FF SIM card. The micro SIM card is likely to be the 3FF size.
