Using a China Mobile SIM card in a Verizon LG G6 and the data doesn't work

My son is in China for the summer and bought a China Mobile SIM card to use in his LG G6.  He can make calls and send / receive texts, but can't get data.  Is this likely to be a problem with the phone or with the SIM card or China Mobile plan?

If this is enabled and problem continues, then he needs to contact China Mobile, so they can make sure his data is provisioned properly.
