why do i get a message when I turn on my phone "sign in failed for my gmail account? I do not use my phone for my gmail.why do i get a message when I turn on my phone "sign in failed for my gmail account? I do not use my phone for my gmail.

You might not use it for the email, but the phone uses the account to access contacts, location history, etc. It needs to be signed in properly.

i don't think apps can be downloaded or updated if you aren't signed into google.
