Would it be possible for Verizon to change their wi-fi calling feature? I have a week signal in my house and periodically drop calls and Verizon's wi-fi calling feature only works if you have no signal at all. You need to prioritize wi-fi calling so that if you turn it on it overrides the Verizon network until you leave the wi-fi network. This is the way Sprint's wi-fi calling works and it works great in my house. Hopefully you could modify this in an update?
I have that issue every once in a while. The way that I found around it, is to set the phone on airplane mode, turn my Wi-Fi on, and I am able to make and receive calls. Not a fix, but helps in a pinch.
That is not how it works for me. Verizon is definitely cellular preferred, but it does not wait until there is no signal. Mine is very good at switching to wifi before there is no usable signal, and stays on wifi calling until there is a solid signal. There are other threads where it was discussed signal levels that trigger the switch. Personally it is working great.
When you click on Wi-Fi calling on s7 edge it reads: Use Wi-FI when your mobile network is NOT available. With sprint when you turn it on it stays on until you loose your Wi-Fi signal.
Thanks for the info will give it a try
You would think Verizon would get it right the first time since they were the last to offer it. Sprint, T-Mobile, Republic Wireless, AT&T all got it right. (Did I say Republic Wireless??? The ones that get it right with plans starting at $10.00 a month)
C'mon Verizon, spend less time counting all the money you are bringing in & focus more on the customer. Let the USER have control over Wi-Fi, just like all your competitors have already found out is best.
