Will the Xperia Z3V get Marshmallow?

As we all know , google made new android system update back in 2015. Then it was Sony, who built update of android 6 for all their marginally new/flagship devices . And so android 6 already available for every Sony device but z3v. When is release for Z3V?

And is there any sense of buying Verizon devices with over a year hold of system update? Updates are kinda important for security...

Thinking about going with unlocked devices like Google nexus 5x. Even that it never been officially presented to work with Verizon we all know it's working.

Short answer, no.

1.   The phone is more than 18 months old, which is as far back as Android promises to update.

2    Sony has pulled support for all US carriers.

OF your phone is functioning well, an update to android 6 is not needed, only security patches are required.

Well,  you saying we can only expect 18 month of life out of 600$ phone?  I mean,  I didn't dare buying new one. But still.  also other carriers Sony phones could be updated to 6.0 really easy.

Guess I'll be selling mine Z3V till it worth something.  And getting myself LG 5x which doesn't have verizon support.  And I'm very glad there isn't gonna be 1000 verizon apps pre-installed

IM telling you Sony has bowed out of the US market and only will support phones it HAS TO.

Software updates are exciting Duuuuude. At this time we do not have any information Marshmallow update for the Soney Z3v. I also got an email from Sony yesterday. Didn't seem that Sony planning to update z3v anytime soon.

Thank you for info. Gotta try LG Nexus 5X at least it's staight from Google. And i'm gonna have updates right away.

Good converation here. I was glad to see the Sony Z3v upgraded to Android L recently. I had friends / family members asking about that (using Android Auto etc.). I agree duuuuude probably can' thold you breathe waiting for Android M. It seems like Sony is having challenges getting traction in the US market. It is a nice device. A friend of mine really likes his! I agree witih your posts mama23dogs as far as Sony taking a backseat in the US.
