contacts won't save on my android

How do I save contacts on my android phone?  Contacts get saved to Verizon Cloud.  Saved contacts don't show on my phone.  I have synch turned on, autosynch.  I need them on my phone as many times I have very poor service and it takes forever to retrieve them from the cloud, if at all.  VERY FRUSTRATED

We understand the importance of being able to properly manage your accounts. May we ask, what type of Android phone do you have? Are you attempt to save contacts to your internal storage or an SD card?

Have you considered saving the contacts to your Google account? You can create the contact on the phone and then it will sync to your Google account when you have a good signal.
