$40 refill card added too account but phone will not reactivate!

I added a $40 refill card too my Verizon prepaid account too reactivate my service,  the card entered into the system and the 40 bucks posted too my verizon prepaid account,  yet when I try too use my phone it keeps telling me I need too add funds? I do not. Understand this issue and we I log onto my Verizon too try too figure out more information,  it's telling me too add 0.00 too activate my phone,  I added another 2 dollars just in case and now it is telling me I need too add -2.00 too my account,  what in the HECK is going on Verizon. Where is my $40 and why is my phone not reactivated?
