Does Verizon charge for calls when roaming on the new 2017 prepaid plans?

I've read somewhere that under Verizon's prepaid plans, there is a per-minute charge for phone calls made while roaming, i.e.: when you are on "Extended Network." Is this true? If so, what is the per-minute rate?
