How do I activate an old device on a prepaid plan?

I got the S8 and gave my niece the S6, she uses prepaid plan.  Does she have to get a new SIM card or can her number be changed on the one I had in the phone

Congratulations on your new device! I'm sure that your niece will appreciate the S6. The device can be changed online, over the phone or at a store:http://www.verizonwireless.com/stores/.
