New customer-add money on acct on-line- why does the refill date not change

I just activated a new pre-paid phone with no problem, my question is when I activated phone it came with 10.00 credit, i then added 15.00 more to account. This ran the exp date out 2 months. The next day I added 20.00 to acct but the exp. date did not change. I thought that a 15.00 purchase runs date out 30 more days, so I figure I should have 90 days to use my credit. All these purchases were made on-line with credit card at verizon web-site. Once I get this figured out, can you run the time out more than the 90 days ( Trac-phone the more you buy the time keeps running out depending on what min card it is )

When you added the $15.00 that activated your account for 30 days, even if you add more money  in between it will not change the date for your next renewal, if you add 15.00 and another 15.00 the same day it will still only be active for 30 days. I use the $30.00 card and its activated for 90 days and that way I can add money inbetween if I have to. Any money left in the account after the exp. date will roll over when you add money after the exp. date  If you intend to use the phone alot I would go with the $ 30.00 which is good for 90 days  or $50.00  plan which is good for 6 months  and add extra if you need to. You can use all but a few dollars of the money the first day as long as you wait until the next due date and then add more money, or add it as needed but you will have to make another payment on the due date. I hope this makes sense. If not post again and I will try to explain whatever question you don't understand.

I initially started with a $100.00 payment, which allowed me to average usage for a month.  When I used $100, well before the expiration date, I set up automatic payments whenever my balance fell below $5, with an amount I knew would be used before the expiration date.

I think what is happening is that they are restarting your activation date over, call customer service and get more detailed infor from them  about what happens when you add more money during the activation period.  1-888-294-6804
