Porting number to a new Verizon Pre-Pay acct

Hi, my dd is currently a Virgin Mobile customer and I want to switch her over to Verizon pre-pay. We have a Motorola Rival that belonged to a friend that she will be using and we are going to get her the basic plan with the $10 texting add-on. Does anyone know if it is possible for her to port her current Virgin Mobile number over to the new Verizon acct when its activated?

Also, does anyone know what other phones with a full qwerty keyboard will work on pre-pay, I would like to get rid of my Razr.

She should be able to port her number over. Just she shouldn't cancel her account with Virgin.It'll cancel once her number is fully ported over.  As for phones, check out the Alias U740. It's an older phone, but a decent one.

Also the Samsung Intensity is a qwerty keyboard and will work on pre pay

Thanks for the replies, it sounds like we shouldn't have any issue with her keeping her number.

I was looking at the EnV (original) and I know that can be used on a pre-pay acct, and I know you can't use the EnV3, does anyone know if you can use the EnV2?

Env2 can be used with prepaid yes.

It can? From what I'd read elsewhere in these forums, I thought the Env2 was one of those multimedia messaging-type phones that required a $9.99 monthly data plan on a contract.

Even if Env2 were to be on a contract, no data plan comes with it. I have the Env2 no data plan. I even deactivated my Env2 to play around with the Cosmos and when i activated it again no data plan required. See this THREAD of older phones that don't require a data plan.

The ENV2 does not require data since it's older.  I got my ENV3 before January 18th but didn't activate my old ENV2 until after the 18th for my husband and we were not required to add data for it.  Mary
