How can I activate Prepaid Mobile Broadband on a PC Card that I already own?

I've tried to follow the VZAccess Manager instructions, but to even download the software a verizon phone number is required.

Do I have to register over the phone with customer service or in a Verizon store?

Once the account expires after 30 days of non usage can I reactivate myself or do I have to go through the same procedure again?

To activate a PC card for prepaid mobile broadband you will need to contact the prepaid department to get a number assigned to you and to verify the equipment you have is compatible. Once you have an account, you can add usage through VZ Access Manager.
