Question about PrePaid.

What is the difference between prepaid and contract? What I mean is there a difference in service like reduced towers or something? Or am I missing something... Why on earth would I sign up for a contract and pay $59.00 for 900 minuets verses prepaid UNLIMITED for $50.00???

What am I missing??

Thanks

Well we used to hardly use our cells and had 3 prepaid phones but then we needed the cells more and unlimited texting and with my husbands work discount it made more sense for us cost wise to have 3 phones on 700 minutes to share with unlimited texting plus we dropped our home phone so strictly use our cells for all calls.  If you are one person and don't make a lot of calls I think prepaid is fine.  Mary

The $50 prepaid plan with unlimited everything only works with 3 basic phones.  The prepaid daily plans only work with non-smartphones.  No prepaid plan offers a contract and the discounted phone that comes with signing a contract.

Also, go back to the signal map and compare the Prepaid coverage to regular coverage.  Prepaid phones aren't able to roam on some of Verizon's partner carriers, which may not impact you at all, or may reduce your coverage severely depending on where you are.

Prepaid is a good deal for some, not for others.  You just have to compare your options.
