Roaming and signal strength

Is there any device I can use to increase signal strength with a Verizon CDM7070? I seem to be on the cusp and can't get a signal but if I drive three miles signal's fine.

There's no device that I know of, but some phones have a better signal than other phones, do you have any friends with a verizon phone that they can check out there phone?  I have an LG and get a stronger signal than I did with my Samsung I'm on a mountain in a wooded area and still get a good signal. What cell phone do you have and is it an older one How old is the battery??
