Where is it stated that "pay as you go plans" don't include tethering?

It is not mentioned anywhere that pay as you go plans do not include tethering.  I spent two days trying to configure my devices and hours on tech support - only to find that it was all in vain.  I'm out $35 for activation and $15 for the card.  That does not include the $50 I spent on the phone.  I asked the right questions at the time of purchase - but received bad information about tethering.  I wonder how many other customers found out the hard way too?  Overall - one bad tasting experience Smiley Sad

Are you talking about a pre-paid plan? For a phone or a mifi type of device?

I signed up for the "pay as you go" plan - which I assume is considered a pre-paid plan.  And no, I'm not kidding - tethering is not included in the plan.  With respect to "You're kidding, right?" - I absolutely am not.  Are you inferring that this should somehow be common knowledge - or are you actually surprised?

Which Pay as you plan you sign up for?  I see it is the $50 unlimited all plan

The info I see is very specific. Unlimited MOBILE DATA. ie  data use for phone access to internet only

I forgot to add that it was indeed a phone - a Motorola Razr to be exact.  It was the phone of choice for me as I needed to connect to an external device which required dial up networking - through bluetooth.

The pay as you go plan I signed up for absolutely included data.  I pay 99 cents per day - only on the days I use the service.  Not only does the plan include data - it was also unlimited.  The browers on the phone worked fine.

I paid a total of $15 for the prepaid card - not $50.  I went into great detail with the Verizon salesperson as to what I needed - especially tethering.  Could you please post a link to the area describing "mobile data"?

Unlimited MOBILE WEB is NOT Unlimited data. It means as I stated earlier, you can view the web from the MOBILE device only. Thus the name.

I see a star next to that Mobile Web listing.  What does the footnote associated with that star say?
