phone for prepaid

does anyone know if I can use my existing, but not connected, motorazor phone I used to use with altell for a prepaid plan with verizon?  I appreciate any help with this.....

As far as I know you can use Verizon phones on Alltel plans, but you cannot use Alltel phones on Verizon plans.

I was hoping with the fact that verizon bought out altell that maybe i could...guess i will just go to a verizon store tomorrow and find out....thanks for your help
