went to pay my Verizon bill this evening to find the same $6.00 charge on my bill. Seems like I am paying double here, 40$ for my account and 46.73$ for my line. now adding the 6$ to it and putting me over my budget. I have been with Verizon for over 16 years, a senior citizen, pay on time, no problems, and now feel like being thrown to the wayside if I don't change my plan. I never got an answer for a question I have about "shared data" whom am I sharing it with, I have a single line, no other phones?
But these new plans will make my payment higher, I don't want Hulu, Disney or any of that other stuff on my phone, why should my phone be subject to them. Don't say you do not have to active, just don't want it period. I think it's time to shop around

This is just an obnoxious cash grab by Verizon. It's part of their "bait and switch" advertising. They get people to switch from other providers by advertising one price, and then once you're signed up, they tack on arbitrary fees like "Plan Rate Adjustment." It basically translates to, "we want more money, so we're going to pad your bill and expect you to just pay it without question."
I've also been with Verizon for well over 20 years, and this is how loyalty is treated. Last month I called them and complained and they removed the $6.00. I told them I didn't want to see it again, or I'd find a new provider. Now, this month, it's right back on my bill.
This is the new corporate ethos in America. Sickening.

Last night, March 4, 2023 we JUST got a notification from Verizon of a "Plan Rate Adjustment" to our Plan that we have been on Stating:
"To continue improving our industry-leading mobile network and services, the price of each of your phone lines will increase by $2/month* beginning on April 10, 2023. You’ll see this charge on your bill displayed as ‘Plan Rate Adjustment’. Tablets, smart watches and other devices will not be impacted." Now THIS may not sound like "much" BUT charge 2 MILLION accounts and what do you have? BTW, We are on CONTRACT ( Note CONTRACT as in I MUST ABIDE to a CONTRACT ) and Verizon doesn't? Hmm so it's a one-way street? BTW, we have been Verizon Customers since 2000 ( 23 YEARS ) We are nearing the end of our "CONTRACT" in JUNE 2023. BTW I ALSO took off my "Premium Voice Mail on my wife's phone as it was doing NOTHING to keep Spam and similar type calls from calling her.
So Verizon, what's ongoing here? We drop the extra charges and we end up with NEW CHARGES? STOP IT !
