1 Year Upgrade

Why won't Verizon allow us to keep the 1 Year Upgrade on whatever replacement device we move to. The 1 yr Upgrade was a selling feature for me. The iPhone 7 is now the only qualifying option. If I wanted an iPhone, I would have bought one instead of my Note 7. This whole recall leaves many of us stepping down to options we passed on already so now we get our less desired device. For 700-800 bucks, I'd expect a bit more consideration.
