Can you upload pics to icloud from a phone who's homescreen is locked?

I have used all but one attempt to put in my homescreen password before I have to factory reset my Note 5. I have ALOT of pics and videos of my 4 yr old that I never backed up to my Icloud due to space. I recently bought more Icloud space...would I be able to now upload my pics to my computer/icloud using a usb even tho my homescreen is still in locked mode?
