Galaxy Note trade-in without S-Pen

Hi, My S-pen recently broke for my Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Do I need to get a replacement in order to send my device in for a trade-in, or can I send my Note 9 in without the S-pen and still get the maximum trade in value?
