Galaxy S7 date resetting to Dec

Several times a day, my phone resets date to Dec (or sometimes Jan) and has wrong time. I have to restart it to fix this. What might be causing this date issue to happen?

No one likes phone that resets including myself. I know it can get annoying. I would love to help to see what is going on.  What are you doing when this happens? Have you downloaded any new apps? Please tell me more. -AmberF_VZW

not doing anything.  Haven't downloaded anything except zedge for  a couple of ring tones. Sometimes at work I turn the screen on to check the time an it says january and time around 2 am or so depending when I check it. Sometimes I don't check it and I miss texts or emails from work. It seems to happen mostly around 2 am every night. some times it happens 2-3 times a day.(I work nights 10 PM to 10 AM) I have to power the phone off and turn it back on again for it to show the proper time and date.

Have you tried to power the device off for 30 seconds, then power the device back on again?
