How to restore android 6.0

I am sick of this wonderful S7edge phone being crippled by bad updates. The 6.x versions of android ran perfectly, then 7,0 came around and broke things like the the spell check window in messenger plus. Now oreo has made this phone just about unusable. There is such a lag doing anything, I miss photo opportunities while it takes the camera 60 seconds to fire up. Google voice recognition grabs the last word of a paragraph, but at least my battery lasts about 4 hours now! I need to use my land line, I can't even get through a day.

After clearing caches, updating everything, then reading the forums, I realize it isn't me and it isn't a fluke.

So, I need to restore the 6.0 build and block any updates. I trusted you with my equipment verizon, this broke it. It has been two months, and I am still waiting for someone to say "yes this is the fix" and roll a solution. As I'm paying 500 a month for the amount of phones on my line, I'm not too happy there is no fix to the mandatory roll out. I am busy enough, I can't spend hours tinkering to get back to what I had.

Forgot to mention the phone is burning a hole in my pocket now, and in the az sun, won't charge anymore. The phone is always too hot to charge. I did not have this issue before the update.

BISTR60, you are another Oreo victim.  Unfortunately, you can't return to a previous OS.  You're stuck with Oreo, as are so many other S7, 8, and 9 users.

Samsung writes the OS updates to prevent rolling back to the previous version of the OS.

So what is the fix? hard reset? The phone is very frustrating and seriously unusable. Want to make a call? Wait 60 seconds while the phone loads. Want to surf the net? Good luck with that, hope you have a lot of time to kill.

Right now, as far as I am concerned, verizon broke my phone.

isn't your phone a couple years old, maybe it's time to replace.

just because the update is offered  doesn't mean it will work with older phones!?

Are you seriously suggesting that I take a perfect condition phone , that worked flawlessly before the pushed / mandatory update 2 months ago, and spend $800 on a new one?

I will reserve my expletives, but please note I am thinking them.

Has a factory default been attempted? My S7 Edge hasn't been behaving too badly with Oreo, but it there will come a point where Samsung will stop issuing OS updates to the S7 & S7E.
