I was gonna keep my Note 7 but Oculus already sent an update to disable!

I simply don't want to switch to a (lesser) phone and be trapped for two years.  This is beyond frustrating.  I wish I could keep my old Note that I exchanged for the 7.

Tonight I was gonna show my buddy something I'd found in VR...but when I attached the Note 7 to the VR Gear, it forced an update.  After the update, I got a message that Oculus was disabling all VR and that if I wanted to use it, I needed to go swap phones.

It appears likely that we will begin getting incremental updates which will slowly disable all features and make our phones a brick.

Taking my old Note, giving me two explosive Notes, and locking me into a 2 year contract with a lesser phone is **not** acceptable.
