If one replaces their replacement Note7 for an S7 Edge, does one lose the annual upgrade eligibility?

From looking online, it appears the S7 Edge isn't eligible for annual upgrade if purchased after 9/10. Does this mean if I replace my replacement Note7 for an S7 Edge, I am stuck with it for two years?
