I am receiving multiple calls from Jordan. Each time I block the number, another one calls. Getting really annoyed as the Call Filter IS NOT WORKING!!!!!
keep blocking 'em, i recently got one from belarus.
We understand looking to stop unwanted calls. Call filter helps you detect if a call is a spam call before you answer it. It also helps you report a number as spam to have it investigated. You can learn more about call filter here, https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/call-filter-faqs/. There is not much that can be done about spoof calls since they are not considered illegal. You also try registering to https://www.DoNotCall.gov/ . Let us know if this option helps.
I'm having the same issue too and frustrated i cannot block it. It looks like the only way to blanket block calls from international numbers through VZW is for a $10/month smart family feature. I find that ridiculous. I'm not trying to manage parental controls or control calling on the line - I am trying to block international spammers that call once, hang up on the hopes you will call them back and they'll make money on call tarrifs. This is a systemic problem and Verizion SHOULD be protecting its customers from these nusance calls. I have my phone automatically connected to my house line so in the middle of the night now, i get a 1 ring call from Belarus or Jordan.
On my Note 8, Do Not Disturb doesn't seem to even work for this and there is no way to block the call.
Verizion - Please look into this and look into protecting your customers by offering the ability to block all incoming international calls.
This is a known issue reported by the FCC and Verizion should offer this blocking for free:
Those calls can certainly get old quickly. I know I wouldn't want to deal with them either. I'm glad to help figure this out as we take protecting our customers seriously. Have you tried our Call Filter app? This has a free version and can allow you to report numbers and block numbers. You can find details at https://www.verizonwireless.com/solutions-and-services/call-filter/ . This isn't a universal block against all international calls but it will help you fight spam calls, including international ones.
