Is Galaxy S9 plus eligible for

I've been in contact  with Verizon two separate times on chat, two times on the 800 number and I've called two different corporate stores. When I was going through the upgrade process on the My Verizon app to do an early upgrade from my S8 + to the S9 + it told me that my new device was not eligible for early upgrade.

During the first chat they said that the S8 was only  eligible if I bought it before 11/21/2017 which I did. The representative also told me that the Galaxy S9 was not going to be eligible for early  just like the note 8. I initiated a second chat just to confirm and I was told the previous rep was wrong and it was eligible.

After this I decided to call two different local Verizon corporate stores and was told by both that the S9 isn't eligible. Can anyone else confirm this?

I don't want to upgrade if it means I have to pay off my S9 when the S10 comes out next year. In that case I'll just wait..

The only way that I have found to maintain annual upgrade eligibility for the S9/S9+ is to go directly to Samsung, bypassing VZW as the middleman:

  1. Pay off balance on existing device via My Verizon, immediately transferring full ownership to you.
  2. Purchase S9+ directly from Samsung online:
    • Galaxy S9+ 64GB (Verizon) = $929.99, free shipping, opt into Samsung Upgrade Program.
    • Trade-in for S8+ = $300.
    • Financed balance for S9+ = $629.99 plus tax over 24 months, 0% APR
    • Premium care available through Samsung (optional) = first month free, $11.99/month thereafter

The decision is yours -- you just need to decide what you want to do...

Why do you want to spend nearly $1000 when basically all you're getting the S9 with a better camera?

I apologize for any incorrect information you've received regarding the annual upgrade options for Samsung devices, cc8941. The S9 and S9 Plus are not part of the Samsung Annual Upgrade Program described at https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/annual-upgrade-program-for-samsung-devices-faqs/ . If you do decide to upgrade to the S9 Plus, then you'll have the opportunity to pay 100% of the device's installment agreement to get the next phone. But that also provides you with the opportunity to trade in the S9 Plus (in good physical and working condition) through our trade-in program at www.vzw.com/tradein since you will own the phone with the full buy out. Does this help? Is your S8 working well?

Thank you
