I have an old 2015 Note 5. The charging port is none for being wonky on these and mine has finally given out. Today it wouldn't charge at all. I contacted Asurion. They had me call Verizon. The Verizon guy told me that if I didn't bring it in to the Verizon store and they sent a replacement, I might end up with a charge for $600 on my phone (which, btw, is valued at $26 on trade-in lol). I have cancer so I sent my husband with it to the Verizon store. The guy there must have held the cord in place at an angle that I can't find and got it to charge a little bit. He then blamed my brand new samsung chargers and anker cords, and sold my husband a $35 charger. My husband came home and the phone is dead and won't charge. What do I do? Am I out of luck? Is Total Equipment Coverage a complete scam? Is there a third-party you can insure your phone with instead (for the next time I get a phone)?
Having a reliable phone charge is crucial and so is getting value for device protection. We apologize for the amount of time spent trying to find a device solution. You mentioned attempting to file a claim with Asurion. This would be the case if your phone is damaged or if you are experiencing issues with a replacement received from Asurion recently. Why were you advised to contact Verizon instead of filing the claim through Asurion?
Fun fact, if you have total equipment coverage you have the extended warranty which is ASURION. They have agents posing they are Verizon, but Tech Coach is still Asurion and they're the one's that are supposed to take care of this.
