Note 5 Hotspot shutting off when screen goes to sleep

Just like the title says, I start my hotspot and I can connect my laptop. When my phone goes to sleep, the hotspot fails and shuts off.

My phone is a Note 5.

We'd like to assist with this power issue. Is it just the hotspot in use when it powers down? Is the phone heating up beyond a reasonable temperature before powering off?
