I ordered an SPen Pro 8/23. which had a ship date around Sep 4. On Sep 2, I checked the order and saw the ship date had changed to 9/27. This was too late for my needs so I called Internet Orders and explained, and they agreed to cancel the order. She was having a little difficulty with the system, but it would absolutely be cancelled don't worry. Oh oh! So I bought one from another carrier which arrived Sep 5.
Later on I noticed the status was still Processing so I called again, and this time told that it was absolutely cancelled everywhere.
So naturally, today I get an email from Verizon, the wait is nearly over and it has been shipped. And my card has been charged.
Somewhat not happy!
Following up my own post. I contacted the Verizon FB team, and they assured me that that had cancelled the order, it hadn't shipped yet, it would be caught and my credit card refunded. I could safely ignore any more UPS messages.
So, (in retrospect "of course") the package arrived this evening. The FB group said I should call internet orders, and when I did that I was advised to either refuse the package (it hadn't arrived by that point) or better, bring it unopened to a corporate store. And this would cause the amount to be credited. Fortunately, the rep sent me email summarizing our conversion and the original trouble ticket number. But, not a lot of faith that things will work, and I expect I will have to dispute with my credit card. (From some of the messages here, I expect to eventually be told that the box was empty or something!)
Final status: my cynicism was misplaced. The email I had received from Internet Sales was very useful, I showed it to the corporate store staff, they made a call to find out what to do, opened the box, checked it and immediately began the refund process which fully posted today
So, while not smooth and a waste of my time, it ended OK!
