Returning paid in full note 7

I previously purchased a note 7 and paid for it in full. Upon returning it I learned that I cannot get a refund and exchange it for a new phone. Instead I'm actually buying a new phone signing for a payment plan and then waiting for a refund. The store or corporate cannot give refund on the note 7. According to customer service they will give the refund at some unknown later date. Now I have no phone and no money.
